Living Room Concert

Description of the Event: 

The Living Room blends regional musical artists with the Greater Hartford scene for a contemporary concert experience, in classic TheaterWorks style. For an hour and a half, a few times per year, audiences are invited to come together in a modest, decorated space to mingle, reconnect, and celebrate the diversity of regional music from the cozy seats of a renowned nonprofit right here in Hartford. With a local musician as curator of the event, low ticket prices and fair artist guarantees are prioritized to promote equitability and invite local music lovers to experience the familiar in a fresh, elegant, and intimate environment that feels like home.  

Each performer is provided with a contract in advance. The concert takes place at TheaterWorks from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Doors open at 6:15 for pre-show mingling and the opportunity to get a drink and/or a snack at the bar. There is a 15-minute intermission for additional drinks and socializing. The events team handles all setup and breakdown, as well as staffing the box office and the bar.  

Our Living Room concert on May 20th, 2023 features the Tony Davis Trio, a hypnotic, Latin jazz offering from the mind of Hartford-raised, NYC-based artist, Tony Davis. Now an internationally-touring artist, Tony draws influence from the language of legends like John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix, and The Beatles, blended with the rhythms and harmonies of Cuban and Brazilian music.
